Brief Report-
The Start-up and Innovation Cell of Dr. D. Y. Patil B-School under IIC 7.0 organized an insightful mentoring session on “Lean Start-up & Minimum Viable Product/Business” by Mr. Amol Nitave.
The session began with an overview of the current start-up ecosystem in India, highlighting its rapid growth, government initiatives, academic support, and increasing investor interest in innovative ideas. Mr. Nitave explained how the lean start-up methodology enables entrepreneurs to minimize risks and optimize resources by focusing on iterative product development based on real-time customer feedback.
He stressed that an MVP is not a final product but a simplified version created to test assumptions, validate demand, and collect valuable insights before committing larger investments. Through examples from different industries, he demonstrated how successful start-ups often pivot their original ideas based on MVP learnings.
The discussion also covered emerging trends such as artificial intelligence, green technologies, and digital platforms, presenting opportunities for students to align their ideas with market demands. Mr. Nitave encouraged participants to actively engage with the start-up ecosystem through networking, incubation programs, and accelerator opportunities to fast-track their entrepreneurial journey.

Key Outcomes-
1. Participants gained an understanding of the lean start-up approach and its application in early-stage ventures.
2. Awareness was created about the dynamic start-up ecosystem and potential sectors for innovation.
3. Students learned the significance of developing an MVP to validate ideas before full-scale launch.
4. The session motivated aspiring entrepreneurs to leverage available resources and adopt a structured approach to building successful start-ups.
