internship opportunity. The session was delivered by Gaurav Mohan Verma, Scrum Master at
VOIS, Pune.
The session focused on helping students understand the importance of timing, skill readiness, and
strategic preparation in securing and excelling in their first internship. Mr. Verma emphasized
that internships are not just short-term assignments but critical stepping stones that shape long
term career trajectories. He highlighted how early clarity about career goals, combined with
consistent skill development, significantly enhances employability.
Drawing from his professional journey, he outlined key competencies required in today’s
dynamic work environment, including adaptability, communication skills, problem-solving
ability, agile mindset, and basic domain knowledge. He also stressed the importance of
understanding industry expectations, building a strong LinkedIn presence, networking
effectively, and preparing thoroughly for interviews.
The session provided practical strategies on resume building, interview preparation, project
selection, and making a meaningful impact during internships. Students were encouraged to treat
internships as live learning laboratories where preparation translates into performance and
ambition transforms into measurable action.
The interactive discussion allowed participants to clarify doubts related to career planning,
transitioning from academics to industry, and navigating corporate culture.
The session proved to be highly motivating and practical, equipping students with the confidence
and clarity needed to approach their first internship with preparation, purpose, and
professionalism.
