The PGDM students organized an industrial visit to Bajaj Housing Finance Ltd. as part of their
experiential learning initiative. The visit aimed to provide students with first-hand exposure to
the functioning of the housing finance sector and to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts
and practical implementation.
During the visit, students were introduced to the core operations of housing finance, including
loan origination, credit appraisal, underwriting processes, documentation, and disbursement
procedures. The company representatives explained how financial institutions assess borrower
profiles, evaluate creditworthiness, and manage portfolio risks while ensuring regulatory
compliance.
A key highlight of the session was the discussion on risk management practices in housing
finance. Students gained insights into how institutions mitigate credit risk, market risk, and
operational risk through structured evaluation models, data analytics, and robust monitoring
systems. The interaction also emphasized the importance of customer-centric lending practices,
transparent communication, and ethical financial advisory in building long-term trust and brand
reputation.
The visit enabled students to understand the practical challenges faced by housing finance
companies in a dynamic economic environment and how strategic decision-making supports
sustainable growth.
The industrial visit proved to be an enriching and informative experience, strengthening students’
industry readiness and deepening their understanding of the domain of financial services.
