Detailed Report:
At Dr. D. Y. Patil B-School, learning is designed to blend academic knowledge with real-world application. In alignment with this approach, the Sustainable Product Packaging Creation Competition was organized on Wednesday, 25th February 2026, in the Seminar Hall from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm.
The competition invited PGDM students to participate in teams of up to seven members. Registration was conducted on the spot, which encouraged enthusiastic participation and spontaneous engagement. The event aimed to provide a platform where students could showcase their creativity while addressing one of the most pressing concerns in modern business—sustainability.
Participants were tasked with designing innovative packaging solutions that effectively combined environmental responsibility with strong brand appeal. Teams conceptualized and developed packaging prototypes using sustainable materials, recyclable components, and minimalistic yet impactful branding elements. Emphasis was placed on functionality, cost-effectiveness, aesthetic appeal, and alignment with target market positioning.
Each team presented its packaging concept, explaining the rationale behind design choices, sustainability aspects, and branding strategy. The evaluation focused on creativity, practicality, environmental impact, and clarity of communication. The interactive presentations enhanced students’ confidence, strategic thinking, and application of marketing principles.
The competition successfully bridged theory and practice by allowing students to experience the challenges of sustainable product development. It reinforced the importance of responsible marketing and demonstrated how innovative packaging can contribute to both brand differentiation and environmental conservation.
The event concluded with appreciation for the active participation and innovative efforts of all teams, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to nurturing socially responsible and future-ready business leaders.
