Competition Structure:
The event followed a two-round format, designed to evaluate different aspects of advertising
creativity and execution. A total of 8 teams participated in the competition, representing various
colleges from the region. The competitive spirit was high throughout the event, with each team
bringing their own unique perspective and creative energy to the floor.
Round 1 – Digital Ad Creation
The event began with the screening of each team's pre-submitted digital advertisement. Teams
had created short video or reel-format ads of 30-60 seconds, selecting one industry and one
product or service within that industry. Each ad reflected the team's understanding of brand
communication, consumer psychology, and creative storytelling. After every team's digital ad was
played, the judges Prof. Shubhedra Singh Panwar, Assistant Professor, DYPBS, and Dr. Nilambari
Moholkar, Assistant Professor, SMR, DPGU asked pointed questions based on the team's creative
choices, messaging strategy, and overall advertising approach. This interactive Q&A session gave
teams the opportunity to explain the thought process behind their work, justify their creative
decisions, and demonstrate their depth of marketing understanding. The round was highly
engaging and showcased a strong level of preparation and conceptual clarity among participants.
The evaluation for this round focused on Strategic Messaging, Quality and Aesthetics, Emotional
Appeal and Engagement, Brand Recall, and Feasibility and Scalability.
Round 2 – Live Ad Mad Performance
Following the completion of Round 1, all teams moved on to the Live Ad Mad Performance round,
which proved to be the most exciting and unpredictable segment of the event. Each team was
given a surprise product (picked on the spot) and was allowed 5 minutes to prepare a live
advertisement around it. This round truly tested the teams' ability to think on their feet, adapt
quickly, and deliver a compelling performance under pressure. Teams performed their live ad
within a 2-minute window, using acting, storytelling, humour, and other creative formats to bring
their surprise product to life. The energy in the room was electric, with each performance drawing
enthusiastic responses from the audience. Participants arranged their own props and materials as
needed, adding an extra layer of creativity and resourcefulness to the performances.
The evaluation for this round focused on Creativity and Originality, Relevance to the Theme or
Product, Marketing Effectiveness, Presentation and Execution, and Overall Impact.
