As a part of the induction programme for the PGDM Batch 2026–28, Dr. D. Y. Patil B-School organized a Faculty Introduction Session to welcome the newly admitted students and familiarize them with the academic team. The session aimed to establish a strong connection between faculty members and students from the very beginning of their management journey.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome by the Academic Department, highlighting the importance of faculty mentorship in shaping students' academic and professional development. Students were informed about the institute's learner-centric approach, experiential learning pedagogy, and commitment to academic excellence.
Each faculty member introduced themselves, sharing their educational qualifications, industry exposure, research contributions, areas of specialization, and teaching interests. Faculty members also briefed students on the subjects they would be handling, their expectations from students, classroom practices, evaluation methods, and opportunities available for research, publications, live projects, certifications, and consultancy.
The students were introduced to faculty members from various functional areas, including:
• Marketing
• Finance
• Human Resource Management
• Business Analytics
• Operations & Supply Chain Management
• General Management
• Economics
• Communication & Soft Skills
• Research and Innovation
The faculty encouraged students to maintain regular interaction, seek academic guidance whenever required, and actively participate in classroom discussions, industry interactions, certification programmes, research initiatives, club activities, and institutional events. The mentoring system was also explained, emphasizing personalized guidance for academic, professional, and personal development.
An interactive question-and-answer session followed, during which students clarified their queries related to curriculum, academic policies, specializations, internships, placements, and career opportunities. The interaction created a welcoming and encouraging atmosphere, helping students feel comfortable with the faculty members.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks, reaffirming the institute's commitment to providing quality management education through experienced faculty, industry-oriented learning, innovation, and continuous student support.
