Detail Report:
The Student Development Cell of Dr. D. Y. Patil B-School successfully organized an engaging
and interactive session titled "Know Your Batch", facilitated by Dr. Arpit Trivedi. The
session was thoughtfully designed to help students discover their strengths, build meaningful
relationships with their peers, and understand the importance of teamwork and leadership in
their academic and professional journey. The resource person emphasized that every individual
possesses unique talents and abilities. Through a series of experiential activities, students were
encouraged to communicate, collaborate, think creatively, and step outside their comfort zones.
The session created an energetic and inclusive atmosphere where students actively participated,
exchanged ideas, and showcased their creativity. The activities were carefully structured to
develop leadership qualities, team spirit, innovation, and confidence while enabling students to
know each other beyond classroom interactions.
Activity 1: Formation of Teams and Leadership Selection
Students were divided into four groups, and each group was asked to identify four leaders based
on their leadership qualities, communication skills, and ability to coordinate team activities. This
exercise encouraged students to recognize leadership potential among their peers and promoted
collaborative decision-making.
Activity 2: Election of Deputy Leaders
Following the selection of leaders, each group democratically elected one Deputy Leader. This
activity highlighted the importance of delegation, shared responsibility, and participative
leadership. Students discussed the qualities required for effective leadership before making their
decisions.
Activity 3: Naming the Team
Each group was challenged to create a unique and meaningful team name that reflected their
collective identity, vision, and values. Students brainstormed innovative ideas, discussed
different perspectives, and finally selected names that represented their team's personality and
aspirations. The names they kept are as follows: Visioners, Stambh, Thunder Birds and
Aarambh.
Activity 4: Creating a Group Jingle
To strengthen team bonding and encourage creativity, every group composed a short and
energetic jingle based on their chosen team’s name. The activity encouraged students to think
creatively while enhancing coordination, presentation skills, and team enthusiasm. Each group
performed its jingle with confidence and excitement, creating a lively learning environment.
Activity 5: Designing a 3D Model and Presentation
As the final activity, each group designed a 3D model representing the concept behind their
team’s name using available materials. After completing the model, every team delivered a two-
minute presentation, explaining the significance of their design, the thought process behind it,
and how it reflected their team's vision and values.
The presentations demonstrated remarkable creativity, effective communication, critical
thinking, and teamwork. Students confidently articulated their ideas while showcasing
innovative solutions and collaborative efforts.
