Report on Session:
As part of the experiential learning initiative, a "Learning through Movie" session was
organized for the PGDM students featuring the Bollywood film Rocket Singh: Salesman of the
Year. The objective of the activity was to provide students with an engaging platform to connect
theoretical management concepts with practical business scenarios through cinematic learning.
The movie narrates the journey of Harpreet Singh Bedi, an honest and determined young salesman
who enters the corporate world and faces challenges such as unethical business practices, intense
competition, workplace politics, and performance pressure. Instead of compromising his values,
he establishes a customer-focused business model based on trust, transparency, teamwork, and
ethical practices, ultimately achieving remarkable success.
During the screening, students observed several management concepts, including customer
relationship management, sales strategies, entrepreneurship, leadership, negotiation, team
building, innovation, organizational behavior, business ethics, and service excellence. The movie
also highlighted the importance of understanding customer needs, building long-term
relationships, maintaining professional integrity, and creating value through exceptional service.
Following the movie, an interactive discussion and reflection session was conducted where
students analyzed the business decisions, leadership qualities, and entrepreneurial mindset
demonstrated by the protagonist. Faculty members encouraged students to relate the lessons from
the movie to real-world corporate challenges and discuss how ethical leadership contributes to
sustainable business growth.
Students actively participated by sharing their perspectives on the role of integrity in sales,
customer satisfaction, innovation, teamwork, and organizational culture. The discussion
reinforced the significance of balancing profitability with ethical responsibility and maintaining a
customer-first approach in every business decision.
The session concluded with the key takeaway that long-term business success is built on trust,
ethics, customer satisfaction, and continuous innovation. The "Learning through Movie"
activity proved to be an effective experiential learning exercise, enabling students to gain valuable
managerial insights while enhancing their critical thinking and analytical skills. It successfully
inspired students to adopt ethical business practices and develop a professional mindset required
to excel in the corporate world.
