Objectives of the Session
- To introduce students to the vision, mission, and activities of the Center for Marketing
Management & Research (CMMR).
- To create awareness about emerging trends and career opportunities in the field of
marketing.
- To familiarize students with research-oriented learning, consumer behavior analysis, and
market intelligence.
- To encourage students to participate in live projects, industry interactions, marketing
research, and case study competitions.
- To develop strategic thinking, creativity, and analytical skills required for contemporary
marketing professionals.
- To motivate students to enhance their knowledge through certifications, workshops, andexperiential learning initiatives organized by the Centre.
Report on Session:
The Center for Marketing Management & Research (CMMR) organized an orientation
session for the PGDM students with the objective of introducing the Centre's vision, initiatives,
and opportunities for academic and professional development in the field of marketing. The
session was conducted by Dr. Lokesh Arora, Head of the Marketing Department and an
experienced academician with extensive expertise in marketing strategy, consumer behavior, and
digital marketing.
During the session, Dr. Lokesh Arora highlighted the evolving nature of the marketing profession
and emphasized the need for marketers to adapt to changing consumer preferences, technological
advancements, and data-driven decision-making. He explained how the Centre serves as a
platform for students to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry practices through
research, innovation, and experiential learning.
The speaker introduced the various activities conducted under the Centre, including marketing
research projects, consumer surveys, branding and advertising workshops, digital marketing
initiatives, market analytics, product innovation challenges, and industry interactions. Students
were encouraged to actively participate in live projects, business competitions, internships,
certification programs, and research activities to strengthen their practical knowledge and
employability.
Dr. Arora also discussed emerging trends such as digital transformation in marketing, artificial
intelligence, social media marketing, influencer marketing, customer relationship management,
sustainability in branding, and data analytics. Through practical examples and industry case
studies, he demonstrated how these trends are reshaping modern marketing practices and creating
new career opportunities.
