Report on Session:

As part of the student orientation programme, Dr. D. Y. Patil B-School organized an Anti
Ragging and Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Orientation for the newly admitted
students. The session was conducted by Adv. Gurpreet Kaur, an experienced legal professional,
with the objective of creating awareness about students' rights and responsibilities and fostering a
safe and respectful campus culture.

During the session, Adv. Gurpreet Kaur provided a comprehensive overview of the UGC Anti
Ragging Regulations and the provisions of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act,
2013. She explained the legal implications of ragging and sexual harassment, emphasizing the
importance of maintaining dignity, equality, and mutual respect in all interactions. Students were

informed about behaviours that constitute ragging and harassment, the consequences of such
actions, and the institution's zero-tolerance policy towards any form of misconduct.

The speaker also highlighted the role of the Anti-Ragging Committee, Anti-Ragging Squad,
and the Internal Committee (IC) in addressing grievances and ensuring timely redressal of
complaints. Students were encouraged to report any incidents without fear and were assured of
confidentiality, fairness, and institutional support throughout the grievance resolution process.

The interactive session provided students with an opportunity to clarify their queries regarding
legal provisions, reporting procedures, and preventive measures. Through practical examples and
case-based discussions, Adv. Gurpreet Kaur emphasized the collective responsibility of every
student in creating a secure, inclusive, and harmonious learning environment.

The orientation concluded with a strong message on respecting diversity, upholding ethical values,
and contributing to a positive campus culture. The session effectively reinforced Dr. D. Y. Patil
B-School's commitment to ensuring a safe, equitable, and supportive environment where every
student can learn, grow, and thrive with confidence.
