Objectives:
The objective of Muskan 2.0 was to support the health, hygiene and educational needs of young girls at Swargate Children’s Orphanage by providing essential sanitary and educational supplies. The initiative aimed to promote menstrual hygiene, dignity and well-being while encouraging access to basic educational resources. It also sought to foster a spirit of community service, collaboration and social responsibility among Rotaractors.
Brief Report
Muskan 2.0 was a 12-day community service initiative organised to support the young girls and children of Swargate Children’s Orphanage. The Rotaract Club of Pune Katraj hosted the project in collaboration with the Rotaract Clubs of Nigdi Pune, Bibewadi Pune, RCDYPBS and BVRIT Hyderabad College of Engineering for Women.
Through donations received via social media and various fundraising efforts, the initiative successfully raised approximately ?10,000. The funds were utilised to provide over 900 sanitary pads and more than five dozen A4-size notebooks to the children and girls at the orphanage. The initiative addressed essential hygiene and educational needs while promoting dignity, awareness and well-being. Muskan 2.0 also demonstrated the impact of collective efforts and inter-club collaboration in creating meaningful community service initiatives.
