Dr. D. Y. Patil B-School organized an Alumni Interaction Session for the students of the PGDM Batch 2026–28 with the objective of introducing the new batch to the experiences and achievements of its alumni. The session featured Mr. Dhruv Jain, an alumnus of the PGDM Batch 2023–25, who is currently working as a Business Analyst & Conversion Strategist at Optiphoenix. The session began with a welcome address by the faculty, highlighting the importance of alumni engagement in creating a strong learning ecosystem. Mr. Dhruv Jain was introduced to the students, and his academic journey at Dr. D. Y. Patil B-School and professional accomplishments were shared.
During the interaction, Mr. Jain spoke about his journey from being a management student to entering the corporate world. He shared the challenges he faced during placements, the importance of staying consistent, and how practical exposure through internships, projects, and continuous learning helped him build confidence and prepare for industry expectations. He explained the responsibilities of a Business Analyst and discussed how organizations use data, customer insights, and business strategies to improve performance and decision-making. He also introduced students to the concept of Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) and explained, through simple industry examples, how companies analyze customer behaviour to improve business outcomes and enhance customer experience.
Mr. Jain emphasized that technical knowledge alone is not sufficient for a successful career. He encouraged students to focus on communication skills, analytical thinking, presentation skills, teamwork, adaptability, and professional etiquette. He advised students to actively participate in classroom activities, case studies, certifications, industry interactions, and internships to build a strong professional profile before placements. The session was highly interactive, with students enthusiastically asking questions related to placements, resume building, interview preparation, internships, corporate culture, career opportunities, and workplace expectations. Mr. Jain shared practical suggestions based on his own experiences and motivated students to remain curious, disciplined, and open to learning throughout their academic journey. The interaction enabled students to understand the realities of corporate life beyond classroom learning. Hearing the experiences of a recent alumnus made the discussion more relatable and helped students gain confidence about their own career paths. The session also reinforced the importance of maintaining strong connections with the alumni network for mentorship and professional guidance.
As a token of appreciation, Dr. Asha Kiran felicitated Mr. Dhruv Jain on behalf of Dr. D. Y. Patil B-School for sharing his valuable experiences and inspiring the students. The session concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the alumni speaker for his time, guidance, and continued association with the institution. The Alumni Interaction Session was a valuable learning experience for the students and reflected the institute's continued commitment to strengthening alumni engagement and preparing future management professionals through industry-oriented learning.
